The people and the Government of Venezuela convey condolences to South Africa PDF Imprimir E-mail

The People and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela convey their most heartfelt words of condolences to the People and the Government of the Republic of South Africa for the passing of the legendary musician and Anti-Apartheid leader Hugh Masekela, on January 23rd, a tragedy deeply mourned by those who fight for freedom in the world.
A musician, composer, trumpeter, cornet player and singer, and considered as the father of Afro-jazz in South Africa, Hugh Masekela was a defender of culture and a veteran of the struggle for the liberation of his People. One of his most remembered compositions, entitled "Bring Him Back Home", became an anthem of the world tour of the great Nelson Mandela, after his release from prison.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela salutes and accompanies the South African People and their Government in this profoundly felt loss.
